MC Sports Information
The Maryville College Athletic Department encourages fans to wear their favorite Halloween costume on Saturday when they stop by to watch the Fighting Scots take on LaGrange College.
Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. and any child or adult wearing their costume will be admitted to Lloyd L. Thornton stadium free of charge.
In addition to a Halloween showcase of costumes, Sharing America’s Marrow is sponsoring a bone marrow donor drive at the football game on Saturday. Jason Troyer, the MC Athletic Department, and Robert Gaines — coordinator for the drive — encourage you to make your way to the donation tent located near the Cooper Athletic Center end zone to potentially give the gift of life.
Last season, Maryville softball player Emilie Craven decided to share that gift. After learning in the summer of 2014 that she was a possible bone marrow match for a 50-year-old woman batting acute leukemia, Craven underwent the process to help save the woman’s life. The Maryville College Athletic Department challenges each of you to make a difference by submitting a sample on Saturday. These types of events can make all the difference in someone’s life.
