A touchdown rushing, a touchdown receiving, three catches for 99 yards for an average of 33 yards per reception.
Alcoa’s Tykee Ogle-Kellogg gets the nod as the first Barley’s/Blount Press Row Player of the Week for the 2016 football season.
The 6-foot-5, 185-pound junior shed a pair of tackers on a right side sweep to run 37 yards for the game’s opening score in the Tornadoes’ 38-13 win at Webb School of Knoxville on Friday. An Ogle-Kellogg leaping grab on a long toss from quarterback Jaylen Myers set up a Malik Salter 9-yard run for a 14-6 Alcoa lead with nine minutes to play in the half.
A Ben Smith 24-yard field goal lifted the Tornado lead to 17-6 at halftime.
With eight minutes to play in the third, Ogle-Kellogg ran under a deep shot from backup quarterback Walker Russell covering 46 yards, the highlight score opening the Tornado advantage to 31-6. Beautiful throw, great pattern.
Myers, 26-yard run, and Salter, 1 yard, capped the second half scoring on a night the Tornadoes amassed over 500 yards of offense.
