Mountaineer LB Johnson launches return of the ‘Bio-Blast’
Editor’s note: We’re on the home stretch with our high school football team pages. You can view them by selecting “High School” at the top of the site, picking a school and scrolling down to the highlighted “Football” link. The roster pages provide us an opportunity to reintroduce the Blount Press Row Bio-Blast. First up, Heritage linebacker Jonathan Johnson.

Gibbs was merciless with the toss sweep in a Sept. 18 region showdown at Heritage.
Time and again, the Eagles turned and pitched the ball to a fast back, put a wall of blockers in front him and ran right at Heritage. Time and again, Mountaineer linebacker Jonathan Johnson fought through the interference to reach the ball carrier and make the tackle.
The Heritage senior had 12 of them that night, the best we’ve seen this season. The Mountaineers held on through a furious Gibbs rally in the second half to win, 57-56, in overtime.
Johnson is considering the Marine Corps after high school. It’s a noble calling. Whatever he chooses, we wish him the best.
Go Mountaineers!
