Week ending Jan. 20

Maryville’s Leila Bangash and Clark McCall have been selected as the Aubrey’s/Blount Press Row Players of the Week for the Week ending Jan. 20.

Bangash, a playmaking forward, averaged 14.5 points per game as the Lady Rebels

collected wins over country rivals William Blount and Alcoa. The district scoring leader had 17 points, including a 3, in a 51-24 win over William Blount on Friday. A day later, Maryville’s top gun finished with 12 in a 37-34 win at Alcoa.

With his ability to extend and shoot the 3 or score at the basket with equal ease, McCall has been a tough matchup for opponents this season. The Rebel big man had 17 points, including three treys, in a 71-58 win over the Governors. A night later at Alcoa, he pumped in 12 in a 59-34 win over the Tornadoes.
