Week ending Oct. 28

Tim Green helped William Blount’s seniors go out a winner. For his effort, the Governor quarterback is our pick as the Aubrey’s Blount Press Row Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 28.

Green finished 12-of-16 passing for a 130 yards and a pair of touchdowns as William Blount knocked off Farragut, 25-22, on senior night at Mike White Field. The mobile Governor passer added 42 yards on 12 carries with his legs to finish with 172 all-purpose yards.

The seniors themselves did their part. Running back Lane Bloom fired William Blount’s offense with 156 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries. Defensive back Vinnie Hasenstaub sparked the Governor defense. Receiver Justin LaForty registered a head-turning catch to set up a William Blount score as the Governors recorded a win on senior night for the first time in four years.
