Week ending Sept. 16

On a night when top-ranked Maryville had everything going, Dylan Shinsky did more than enough to be named the Aubrey’s Blount Press Row Player of the Week.

The Rebel sophomore scored on a 4-yard lateral and a 29-yard run in Maryville’s 51-0 shutout of Heritage at Shields Stadium on Friday. Maryville’s Mr. Excitement set up two additional scores with kickoff returns of 48 and 66 yards.

At linebacker, Shinsky added a first-half safety when he tackled the Mountaineer punter in the end zone. Four different Rebels, running back Trenton Shuler, receivers T.J. Kimble and Cody Carroll and Shinsky, twice, found the end zone as Maryville opened a 37-0 lead at the half. Reserve backs Jaylen Burgess and Jordan Scott capped the scoring with touchdown runs in the second half.
