Even William Wallace no match for Miller brothers

Even William Wallace was no match for the Millers.

The brothers Braidy and Brett of Nashville distanced themselves from the field with little trouble at the Smoky Mountain Highland Games last weekend at Maryville College.

Braidy, 43, a teacher at Donelson Christian in Nashville, was a three-time college All-American at Eastern Illinois and one of four finalists at the 1992 U.S. Olympic Trials.

Brett, 42, a Music City school teacher like his older brother, also threw the hammer and discus for the Panthers.

Braidy, 6-foot-3, 275 pounds, and Brett, 6-2, 290, are giants of the amateur ranks. Their dual 21-foot weight toss for height ranks second and third, respectively, all-time. Both have overcome injury to return to the top of their sport.
