Heavy rain is forecast.
If they go, the South Bend (Ind.) Cubs will kick off the 2015 season with a 7-inning exhibition with the University of Notre Dame tonight at 6 CST at Four Winds Field.
Scheduled for the start for the Chicago Cubs’ Class A minor league team is former Heritage High School right-hander Trevor Clifton.
“It feels good to get the first game on the hill,” he said. “I’ll just go out there and do my best and try to throw strikes.”
