Tyler Vaught’s absence didn’t slow down the top-ranked Rebels one bit in a showdown with Sevier County Friday night at Shields Stadium.

Junior Zach Cardwell and sophomore Austin Ensley teamed to sub for Vaught, out with an injured shoulder. Ensley was a perfect 7-for-7 with three touchdown passes at the half.

The result was a sobering, 38-3 Rebel rout of the Bears, Ensley finding junior receiver Kelby Brock for a pair of touchdown throws of 63 and 74 yards, respectively, adding a third to tight end Bryce Miller of 35 yards.
