Junior high Rebels edge Tornadoes in a classic

Maryville Junior High’s Max Coleman awaits the pitch during the Blount County Middle School Baseball Tournament championship game.

For the game’s final strikeout, Maryville Junior High left-hander Ben Paddock put a fastball in the chute that came with sound effects when it hit catcher Cohen Babelay’s mit.

That’s after Maryville ace Max Coleman retired seven Alcoa Middle batters by strikeout over the first three innings.
