She always fought back.

When her knees were giving her trouble in middle school, she chose physical therapy every morning before school rather than sit out a season or two.

A shoulder injury her sophomore year at Heritage High School was so severe, “I couldn’t even throw a basketball without it coming out of place,” she said.
