Carnes free throws lift Townsend to repeat

For the second consecutive year, Townsend and Prospect elementary met to decide the National Conference championship of the Blount County Elementary Basketball Tournament.

For the second consecutive year, it was Townsend, by a nose, a pair of Sophie Carnes free throws in the last 16 seconds lifting the defending champs to a 20-18 win on Monday at Heritage Middle.
