Sydney O’Hara is putting on quite the show at the girls state soccer tournament.

Jada Johnson applies the pressure in the Polk County match.

The Alcoa striker uncorked a hat trick on Thursday as the Lady Tornadoes dispatched Merrol Hyde, 4-0, in a Class A semifinal.

Alcoa (18-3-2), making its first state tournament appearance in program history, will meet Signal Mountain (11-5-1) for the title on Saturday at the Richard Siegel Soccer Complex in Murfreesboro.

Kickoff is 11 a.m. CST.

O’Hara’s three-goal eruption on Thursday followed on a two-goal burst in a 2-0 win over Madison Magnet in Wednesday’s state tournament opener. Speedster Jada Johnson knocked home Alcoa’s fourth goal on Thursday. Peiton Bledsoe, Taylor Moore and Johnson each assisted a goal.

Sophomore Riley McDonald collected the shutout in goal, keeping Alcoa’s postseason clean sheet in tact. The Lady Tornadoes have yet to yield a goal since district tournament play began earlier this month.
