Maryville College senior Mackenzie Puckett entered today’s USA South Athletic Conference championship game at Maryville needing 16 points to become the fourth player in the history of the women’s program to reach 1500 for a career.
The All-American forward poured in 25 as the Scots defeated Piedmont, 60-48, for the title, Puckett just missing the double-double with eight boards.
The franklin native finished 10-of-16 from the field, including a perfect 3-for-3 on treys.
Maryville’s Fab Four 1500 includes career scoring leader Jamie Parrott (2,326 points), Leah Onks (2,222), Hayley Smith (1,688) and Puckett (1,509).
Congratulations, Mackenzie.
Go Scots!
