Rebel defensive back Drake Martin makes the stop.
“He beat three guys on that sack,” Carson-Newman assistant coach Tony Ierulli said. “Incredible.”
Ierulli, who coaches defensive ends for the Eagles, doesn’t hold out any hopes of getting Maryville’s Dylan Jackson in an Eagles’ uniform next season. Jackson, a senior and Mr. Football finalist a year ago, has committed to Tennessee.
Still, Ierulli couldn’t help but be impressed with a play as indicative as any in unbeaten and top-ranked Maryville’s 42-14 rout of Farragut in the regular-season finale for both teams Thursday night at Shields Stadium.
