Alcoa’s Liner nets another goal; KAHA vies for title shot

The Knoxville Amateur Hockey Association 18U Ice Bears meet the Utah Golden Eagles in a USA Hockey Youth National Championships semifinal this afternoon in Wayne, N.J., at 4.
Fasthockey.com will carry the game live on streaming video.
The Bears fell, 2-1, to the Bozeman (Mont.) Ice Dogs in the final round of pool play on Friday. Both teams advanced to today’s semifinal, with the Ice Dogs meeting the Idaho Jr. Steelheads.
The championship game is scheduled for Sunday.
Knoxville’s professional Ice Bears host Pensacola in a Southern Professional Hockey League second-round playoff game tonight at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum at 7:30.
Alcoa High School senior Aaron Liner had the third-period, power-play goal for Knoxville in the loss to Bozeman, with Gage Despins collecting the assist.
The junior Ice Bears topped Pool B with 14 goals in three games.
