Rebel record-holder to be part of Buccaneer football return in 2015

Maryville senior and school record holder Shawn Prevo announced a verbal commitment to East Tennessee State University this weekend.

A finalist for Mr. Football back of the year in 2013, Prevo broke the Rebel career records for rushing yardage, carries and rushing touchdowns as a junior. In 2013, the All-State back rushed for 1,337 yards and 18 touchdowns on 173 carries. As a receiving option, he had 22 catches for another 333 yards and a score as Maryville won its record 14th state championship in the playoff era.

The Buccaneers will mark the rebirth of the program after a 12-year absence when they host Kennesaw State Sept. 3, 2015.
