Down 9-4 in the bottom of seventh, Maryville had a lot of ground to make up against Seymour in a state sectional contest Friday night at Everett Park.

The Lady Rebels came close but fell to Eagles, 9-8, finishing one game shy of a return trip to the state tournament.
