KNOXVILLE – No one remembers anymore she was a walk-on.
Thursday, Holly Warlick took the final steps of one of the great stories in sport. After four years as a Hall of Fame player and 27 seasons as an assistant at Tennessee, she was formally announced as the new head coach of the Lady Vols.
Tennessee coach emeritus Pat Summitt slipped her practice whistle around her former assistant’s neck during a press conference at Thompson-Boling Arena, signifying the passing of the torch.
